Photo shoot for Pyrenees Shawl
Usually I announce a new pattern with a simple post that links you to the information page here on my blog. With the release of Pyrenees Shawl, I thought I’d do something a bit different and share a few photos behind the scenes. Pyrenees has been traveling a bit over the past month before she made her public debut.
First she was on display at the Sericin Silkworks booth the Knitters’ Fair in Kitchener last month. Once the dust settled from that event it was time for a proper photo shoot.
The plan had been for an outdoor photo shoot in a local backyard, but the weather on Thanksgiving Monday morning decided not to cooperate and, thanks to the generosity of Karen at Shall We Knit?, we were able to save the photo shoot and move it indoors to the shop. Once the weather cleared, we were still able to do some photos outdoors for the Interwoven Blanket and Sinuosity Shawl.
Thanks to Jen and Shawn for being so patient with the location changes – and in Jen’s case, spending so much time holding still! Once the photos were complete, Pyrenees Shawl got a bit of a touch up blocking and then off to Woodstock for a second appearance in the Sericin Silkworks booth at the Fleece Festival.
Now that things have quieted down a bit, I’ve had some time to promote the pattern release and update the pattern with the new photography. Tabi still has some of this fabulous yarn available in her Etsy store. The medium size (shown in the photos) takes 880 yards of the scrumptious 50/50 Buffalo Silk yarn. The shawl is also lovely in Tabi’s other yarns – as well as any other lace weight yarn that blooms and drapes.
